$5K Reward Offered For Information About Vandalism To Swan Park Holiday Display

(Beaver Dam) A reward is being offered for information about the vandalism to the holiday display at a local park. Earlier this month, the Beaver Dam Rotary Lights in Swan Park was vandalized. Damages were estimated at approximately $3,000.

Sheriff Dale Schmidt, who is also the chair of the Rotary Lights Committee, says a $5,000 reward is being offered by an anonymous donor through the Beaver Dam Rotary Club for information. He says to receive the reward, a credible tip would need to be received no later than March 15. Schmidt says the tip must directly lead to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrators of this crime, which then must be confirmed and approved by the Beaver Dam Rotary Club Board. Anyone with information is asked to contact Beaver Dam Police Detective Daniel Kuhnz at dkuhnz@bdpd.org or 920-356-2552.

Schmidt says recent thefts and acts of vandalism at an area school and local businesses may be connected to the criminal activity at Swan Park. Two weeks ago, soda machines outside of Professional Floor Covering were stolen from, Habitat for Humanity Restore was burglarized and golf carts from Wayland Academy were stolen.

Schmidt adds that he is thankful for the efforts of the Beaver Dam Police Department and for the showing of support from the community. He says it is the Rotary Lights hope that this reward will bring the information needed to hold these individuals accountable for their actions.
