(UNDATED) As of March 5, 15 people have died in house fires in Wisconsin. That’s according to media reports and U.S. Fire Administration data compiled by the Wisconsin State Fire Inspectors Association. The latest victim died in a fire Saturday in Sparta.
Fire inspectors are urging people to make sure their smoke alarms are working, to have an escape plan, and to close bedroom doors at night. The association says it’s working to bring the number of fire deaths in Wisconsin down to zero.
