13 Years in Prison for 2022 Beaver Dam Attempted Homicide

(JUNEAU) A Fall River man was sentenced to 13 years in prison, minus 117 days already served Friday, plus another 15 years of state supervision, for trying to kill a girl in Beaver Dam nearly three years ago.

Dylan Lenz pleaded no contest to attempted homicide as part of a plea deal in June, which avoided a jury trial. Court records show Lenz was 17 when he met the victim on social media, picked her up, and took her to the parking lot of the Beaver Dam Walmart in October of 2022. Lenz stabbed the victim with a box cutter, then ran her over with his car. Sheโ€™ll need to use a wheelchair for the rest of his life.

At his sentencing, Lenzโ€™s defense attorney said Lenzโ€™s actions that night were largely due to the side effects of the antidepressant fluoxetine, which was prescribed by his doctor.

In handing down his sentence, Judge Brian Pfitzinger said protecting the public and the lifelong effect on the victim were his utmost considerations.
