(Lowell) Firefighters from the Clyman-Lowell-Reeseville Fire and Rescue responded to a truck that exploded near a house in the town of Lowell over the weekend. The incident happened at approximately 7:30am Sunday at N5081 Highway I.
The owner and his daughter went outside to find the front half of the truck fully engulfed in flames as well as the fire was starting to melt the siding on the house. Quick thinking by the owner and his daughter also saved more damage to the house, as they were able to grab a skid steer they had on the property and hook a chain to the bumper and pull the truck away from the house before the back end of the truck was fully engulfed.
When crews arrived on scene, they were able to extinguish the truck. Clyman-Lowell-Reeseville Fire was able to confirm that the damage was contained to the outside of the house and it sustained minimal damage. The truck was deemed a total loss.
