(Waupun) Construction on SSM Health’s Waupun eye care services is on schedule. The new 54-hundred-square-foot area on the lower level of SSM Health Waupun Memorial Hospital’s recent two-story addition will welcome eye care services starting in late March.
Hospital officials say all drywall is complete with painting underway along with cabinet installations. They add that ceiling tiles and flooring installs are slated to begin soon. During this month, retail eye displays will be put in place in the optical shop. Equipment installs are also underway.

The $4.2-million-dollar project will offer ophthalmologist services, two optometrists, and five eye care assistance as well as a retinal specialist and a pediatric ophthalmologist. Patients will also be able to receive eye surgical procedures like cataract surgery. The new area will feature eight exam rooms, a laser/procedure room, three provider offices, and a contact lens room.

A new parking lot will be located just off main and Beaver Dam streets. SSM Health is working with CD Smith Construction as the project’s general contractor with Zimmerman Architectural Studios as architect.
