Woman Injured By Cow Flown From Lomira Farm Field

5/5/17 – A Lomira woman was flown from a Dodge County farm field after being injured by a cow. The incident happened around 7:30am on Wednesday near highways 67 and 175 in the Town of Lomira. Chief Deputy Scott Smith with the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office the incident was called in by a neighbor who saw the woman lying in her back yard after getting trampled. Smith tells us that it is not uncommon for deputies to respond to reports of an aggressive bull but in this case a female cow was involved. The cow had apparently just given birth to several calves one day before the incident which could account for her behavior. The victim was taken by Flight for Life to Summit Hospital in Oconomowoc with apparent non-life-threatening injuries.
