Wisconsin, Local COVID-19 Wednesday Update

(Dodge County) Wisconsin health officials are reporting 545 positive coronavirus cases in Wednesday’s daily update, which is 6.5-percent of the 8,300 tests announced. There are 7,328 active cases in the state, a decrease of 206 from Tuesday. Active cases make up 9.5-percent of the 77-thousand people who have tested positive to date. So far, there have been 68-thousand recoveries.

State health officials recorded 12 deaths Wednesday, for a total of 1,142. Deaths accounted for 1.5-percent of all cases in Wisconsin while 7.7-percent of those known to have contracted the virus needed to be hospitalized. Nationwide, the CDC says there have been 184-thousand deaths while the worldwide death toll is widely reported to be around 859-thousand.

Dodge County has five deaths on record and 1,200 cases, an increase of 12 from Tuesday. The county had 95 negative tests returned for a running total of 19,408. Public health officials in Dodge County are actively monitoring 177 people while 726 have recovered.

Washington County has experienced 29 deaths along with 1,669 cases to date.

Fond du Lac County now has 10 deaths and 1,170 positive tests.

Jefferson County has reported six deaths and 932 cases.

There have been two deaths in Columbia County where there have been 366 cases.

Green Lake County has 94 cases.
