Wisconsin, Local COVID-19 Numbers Thursday Update

(Dodge County) Wisconsin health officials are reporting 740 positive coronavirus cases in Thursday’s daily update, which is 7.5-percent of the 9,800 tests announced. There are 8,072 active cases in the state, a decrease of 99 from Wednesday. Active cases make up 11.8-percent of the 68-thousand people who have tested positive to date. So far, there have been 59-thousand recoveries.

State health officials recorded seven more deaths, for a total of 1,067. Deaths accounted for 1.6-percent of all cases in Wisconsin while 8-percent of those known to have contracted the virus needed to be hospitalized. Nationwide, the CDC says there has been 172-thousand deaths while the worldwide death toll is widely reported to be around 788-thousand.

Dodge County has five deaths on record and 982 cases, an increase of 15 from Wednesday. The county had 104 negative tests returned for a running total of 17,867. Public health officials in Dodge County are actively monitoring 174 people while 562 have recovered.

Washington has now experienced 25 deaths along with 1,357 cases.

Fond du Lac County has eight deaths and 844 positive tests to date.

Jefferson County has reported six deaths and 765 cases.

There have been two deaths in Columbia County where there have been 307 cases.

Green Lake County now has 67 cases.
