Wisconsin, Local COVID-19 Numbers Friday Update

(Dodge County) Wisconsin health officials are reporting 1,498 positive coronavirus cases in Friday’s daily update, which is 12.8-percent of the 11,700 tests announced. There are 7,954 active cases in the state, an increase of 561 from Thursday. Active cases make up 10-percent of the 79-thousand people who have tested positive to date. So far, there have been 70-thousand recoveries.

State health officials recorded seven deaths Friday, for a total of 1,153. Deaths accounted for 1.5-percent of all cases in Wisconsin while 7.6-percent of those known to have contracted the virus needed to be hospitalized. Nationwide, the CDC says there have been 186-thousand deaths while the worldwide death toll is widely reported to be around 870-thousand.

Dodge County has five deaths on record and 1,233 cases, an increase of 24 from Thursday. The county had 185 negative tests returned for a running total of 19,618. Public health officials in Dodge County are actively monitoring 177 people while 755 have recovered.

Washington County has experienced 29 deaths along with 1,737 cases to date.

Fond du Lac County has 10 deaths and 1,225 positive tests.

Jefferson County has reported seven deaths and 963 cases.

There have been two deaths in Columbia County where there have been 372 cases.

Green Lake County now has 101 cases.
