Wisconsin Health Officials Record Over 50 Coronavirus Deaths For Second Straight Day

(Dodge County) Wisconsin health officials are reporting 5,935 positive coronavirus cases in Wednesday’s daily update. There are 52,480 active cases in the state, an increase of 1,791 from Tuesday. Active cases make up 21.5-percent of the 244-thousand people who have tested positive to date. So far, there have been 189-thousand recoveries.

State health officials recorded 54 deaths, bringing that total to 2,156. Deaths accounted for point-nine-percent of all cases in Wisconsin while five-percent of those known to have contracted the virus needed to be hospitalized. Of the over one-million people who have died worldwide, the CDC says 233-thousand people were from the United States.

Dodge County has 36 deaths on record and 5,131 cases, an increase of 150 from Tuesday. The county had 184 negative tests returned for a running total of 29,453. Public health officials in Dodge County are actively monitoring 1,319 people while 2,758 have recovered.

Washington County has now experienced 48 deaths and 5,283 cases, there are currently 1,600 active cases.

Fond du Lac County has 5,566 positive tests on record, with 1,658 being active cases, and 23 deaths.

Jefferson County has reported 20 deaths and 3,246 cases to date, 734 are active cases.

There have been seven deaths in Columbia County where there have been 2,045 total cases, currently the county has 634 active cases.

Green Lake County has four deaths and has 854 cases on record, 222 were reported in the last two weeks.
