Wisconsin Health Department Wednesday COVID update

(Dodge County) Wisconsin health officials are reporting 2,134 positive coronavirus cases in Wednesday’s daily update. There are 27,749 active cases in the state, a decrease of 555 from Monday. Active cases make up .4-percent of the 513-thousand people who have tested positive to date. So far, there have been 480-thousand recoveries.

State health officials recorded 37 deaths bringing that total 5,248. Deaths account for one-percent of all cases in Wisconsin while 4.4-percent of those known to have contracted the virus needed to be hospitalized. Of the nearly two-million people who have died worldwide, the CDC 379-thousand people have died in the United States.

Dodge County has experienced 127 deaths and 10,811 cases; a one-day increase of 58 positive tests. The county had 84 negative tests returned for a running total of 37,493. Health officials in Dodge County are actively monitoring 394 people, an increase of 48 from Tuesday.

Washington County reported one additional death for a total of 106 along with 12,607 cases to date; 910 are active cases.

Fond du Lac County has seen 70 deaths with 11,058 positive tests on record; 689 are active cases.

The state says Jefferson County has 61 deaths and 7,108 cases to date; with 386 active cases.

Columbia County has reported 33 deaths and 4,501 positive tests; there are 195 active cases.

Green Lake County has 14 deaths with 1,429 cases on record, 44 cases have been reported in the last two weeks.
