Wisconsin Health Department Wednesday COVID-19 Update

(Dodge County) Wisconsin health officials are reporting 768 positive coronavirus cases in Wednesday’s daily update, which is 7.4-percent of the 10,300 tests announced. There are 7,412 active cases in the state, an increase of 27 from Tuesday. Active cases make up 10.3-percent of the 72-thousand people who have tested positive to date. So far, there have been 63-thousand recoveries.

State health officials recorded six deaths Wednesday, for a total of 1,100. Deaths accounted for 1.5-percent of all cases in Wisconsin while 7.8-percent of those known to have contracted the virus needed to be hospitalized. Nationwide, the CDC says there have been 177-thousand deaths while the worldwide death toll is widely reported to be around 820-thousand.

Dodge County has five deaths on record and 1,057, an increase of 11 from Tuesday. Dodge County had 111 negative tests returned for a running total of 18,713. Public health officials in Dodge County are actively monitoring 180 people while 630 have recovered.

Washington County has now experienced 27 deaths along with 1,521 cases, a one-day increase of 39.

Fond du Lac County has nine deaths and 1,010 positive tests to date.

Jefferson County has reported six deaths and 844 cases to date.

There have been two deaths in Columbia County where there have been 334 cases.

Green Lake County has 87 cases.
