Wisconsin Health Department Friday COVID Update

(Dodge County) Wisconsin health officials are reporting 2,070 positive coronavirus cases in Friday’s daily update. There are 23,683 active cases in the state, a decrease of 282 from Thursday. Active cases make up 4.5-percent of the 530-thousand people who have tested positive to date. So far, there have been 500-thousand recoveries.

State health officials recorded 36 deaths bringing that total to 5,643. Deaths account for 1.1-percent of all cases in Wisconsin while 4.4-percent of those known to have contracted the virus needed to be hospitalized. Of the two-million people who have died worldwide, the CDC says 404-thousand people have died in the United States.

Dodge County has experienced 133 deaths and 11,007 cases, a one-day increase of 23 positive tests. The county had 143 negative tests returned for a running total of 38,122.

Washington County has seen 119 deaths, an increase of six from Thursday, along with 12,996 cases to date; 621 are active cases.

Fond du Lac County has reported 76 deaths with 11,336 positive tests on record; 370 are active cases.

The state says Jefferson County has seen 64 deaths and 7,360 cases to date; with 232 active cases.

Columbia County has seen 39 people and 4,707 positive tests; there are 214 active cases.

Green Lake County has 14 deaths with 1,467 cases on record, 47 cases have been reported in the last two weeks.
