Wisconsin District Attorney’s Association Issues Statement On Kenosha Officer Involved Shooting

(Juneau) The Wisconsin District Attorney’s Association is calling all citizens to promote peace in the wake of the officer involved shooting in Kenosha. In a statement from the organization, which is presided by Dodge County District Attorney Kurt Klomberg, it says they offer their thoughts and prayers to all those involved in the shooting and they especially pray for the recovery of Jacob Blake. An investigation by the Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is underway into the circumstances of the shooting. The association says the investigators employed by the DCI are among the very best in determining and documenting the facts of such an incident. They say a prosecutor will then need to make a decision on how to proceed in the light of that investigation. The statement adds that we are a society of laws and that the law will be followed and justice will be done. The association says this system of laws supports the right of each citizen to make their voices heard but that same system does not support doing so by harming people or property. They say destruction of public and private property is not consistent with a society that seeks justice.
