Wisconsin Coronavirus Cases Continue Upward Trend

(Dodge County) Wisconsin health officials reported 769 positive cases of coronavirus in Sunday’s daily update, which is 10.1-percent of nearly 7000 thousand tests announced. There are 7305 active cases in the state, up 361 from Saturday. Active cases make up roughly 20-percent of the over 36-thousand people who have tested positive to date. So far, there have been over 28-thousand recoveries.

The state dialed back the death count by one inaccurately reported death on Sunday, and with no additional deaths reported, that number stands at 820. Deaths accounted for 2.2-percent of all cases in Wisconsin while 10.5-percent of those known to have contracted the virus needed to be hospitalized.

Dodge County has five deaths on record and 515 cases, an increase of four from Saturday. The county had 119 negative tests returned for a running total of 11,953. Local public health officials are actively monitoring 28 people, as of Friday.

Washington County has 19 deaths on record along with 482 positive cases. Fond du Lac County has six deaths to date and 396 positive tests, 22 more than Saturday. Jefferson County has four deaths and 360 cases. There has been one death in Columbia County where there have been 120 positive cases. Green Lake County now has 43 cases.

The number of deaths in the United States, according to the CDC, is at 134,572 while deaths worldwide are in excess of 571-thousand.
