Wisconsin Ag Exports Increased in First Quarter

6/3/12 – About 700-million-dollars of Wisconsin agricultural products were exported to other countries in the first quarter of this year. That’s a 16-percent increase from the same period a year ago. Agriculture officials say the Badger State is now the 15th-largest exporter of ag

products. That’s up from the 18th largest in the first three months of 2011. About 64-million dollars of Wisconsin dairy products were exported this January through March – up 23-percent from the previous year. And Wisconsin is now the nation’s second-largest exporter of ethanol. About 75-million-dollars of the corn-based fuel was sold outside U-S borders during the first quarter.
