(Beaver Dam) Winter parking restrictions in Beaver Dam are now in effect. City ordinance dictates that the enforcement period begins on November 1 but in the past the mayor has traditionally suspended enforcement until the first snowfall of the season. No such luck this year as we have already seen two late October snowfalls. There is now no parking allowed on city streets between 2am and 6am, so that the Department of Public Works can clear the snow. Citations will be issued for violations and begin at $20 if the ticket is paid within five days. The parking ban will remain in effect until April 1 unless it is announced that the ban has been temporarily or permanently lifted. Glewen says residents who need to apply for a $25 on-street parking permit should apply now so ensure they will have before the next major snowfall.
