Winnebago County Judge Suspended For Conduct Violations

(Winnebago County) The Wisconsin State Supreme Court has a suspended Winnebago County judge for conduct violations. The suspension begins August 2nd for Judge Scott Woldt and will continue for seven days, along with a loss in pay. In a 64-page decision the Wisconsin Judicial Commission had suggested a suspension of 7 to 21 days. Three justices issued the majority opinion, with two justices dissenting and two justices not participating. The complaint was filed against Woldt in June for six incidents, the earliest of which occurred in 2009. Some complaints involved the use of crude language and another the displaying of a handgun during a visit by high school students. Woldt has been a judge since 2004.
