Favorite High School Athletic Moment

I would say that my most memorable high school sports moment happened my

freshman year of football. This happened midway through the season. It was the

middle of the JV game just before halftime, and I was playing quarterback. I had

just scored a touchdown, and then I ran to the sideline. Once I got over to the

sideline, I saw our varsity head coach, Coach Dunlavy, coming towards me. He

proceeded to tell me to go put my helmet down on the bench because I wouldn’t

need it anymore. I had to get ready to start on the varsity defense that Friday

night. I got moved up to full time varsity from there on out as a freshman.

Pre-Game/Event Routine To Get Focused For Competition Include…

I usually start with a lot of interacting with my teammates in the locker room and

then slowly start to focus in. I don’t talk a lot right before gametime. When I start

to focus up, I throw my headphones on and listen to my music. Before I go out

onto the field or mat, I like to find a spot all alone and just be by myself for a few

minutes to get myself prepared for what I am about to go out and do. This is a

crucial part of my pre-game routine because it allows me to calm down and settle my nerves so my game is on point.

Advice You Would Give To A Freshman High School Athlete

Advice that I have for a freshman is that you get back what you put into things.

The more work you put into your sports, the more results you will see when it’s

gametime. This goes right along the line of persistence. Stay persistent. Put in the

work even when you don’t feel like it. The point where you start to feel

uncomfortable is when the most gains are made. Mentally and physically.

A Person(s) Who Had A Major Impact On My Athletic Career & Why Is…

My Dad has always had a huge impact on my athletic career. He has always

pushed me to become the best athlete that I can be. Always praising me for going

the extra mile and congratulating me on my accomplishments. I think that the

most important thing my dad has taught me is to make the most out of the

opportunities at hand. When you see the chance to showcase your abilities, don’t pass it up, chase after it and prove yourself.

Plans For After Graduation

I plan on going to college and studying exercise and sports science and then get into a graduate program for physical therapy.

Favorite High School Class

My favorite class is Weight Training.
