West Bend Woman Gets Probation for Embezzlement

2/8/12 – A Washington County woman who used to manage a loan business has been put on three years’ probation. 29-year-old Maria Labarbera of West Bend must also pay back her victims. Prosecutors said she stole over 10-thousand-dollars from 2008-through-2010 while she was the branch manager of Spring-Leaf Financial Services in Sheboygan. Prosecutors said Labarbera stole the money to pay off her personal credit cards. She told police she was living beyond her means – and she gave money to her mother, who was struggling with alcohol and gambling.
