The Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association has moved their annual High School All-Star Games to later in the summer because of COVID-19. The girls games will now be played on Wednesday, August 4th with the boys contests shifted to Thursday, August 5th at Just A Game Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells.
Once again, a handful of area coaches and student-athletes have been chosen to participate in the event.
On the girls’ side, Watertown girls basketball coach Matt Stollberg and his assistants, Erin Steurnwald and Andrew Woodard have been selected to coach the Division 1 South Team. Beaver Dam’s Jada Donaldson will participate in the Division Two game on the South Team. Horicon’s Payton Morgan was chosen to play on the South Team in Division Four. Randolph’s Brianna Prieve and Fall River’s Sam Leisemann were chosen for the Division Five South Team.
Columbus’ Ben Emler and Waupun’s Keegan Hartgerink were both picked to play for the Division Two White Team while Randolph’s Peyton Moldenhauer and Hustisford’s Dylan Schmitt were named to the D5 White Team.
Each participant in the game is also raising money for The MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes against Childhood Cancer). You can make a donation in the name of a specific participant at the following link. CLICK HERE TO DONATE
Another charity the WBCA has elected to donate a portion of the funds this year is Camp Wawbeek, a part of Easterseals, in Wisconsin Dells. This camp provides services for children and adults with physical disabilities.
