Wayland Academy’s Lessons And Carols Show Is Sunday

(Beaver Dam) Wayland Academy will be hosting their 58th Annual Festival of Lessons and Carols Sunday. The show is a non-denominational music service featuring singing of Christmas carols, hymns, and choral music performed by Wayland’s students and faculty.

A few students gave their thoughts on the songs attendees should be most excited for, including Kirk Kelly.

“I think the ‘Hope for Resolution,’ since I get to play drums for that one,” said Kelly. “It’s the best song.”

Peter Dang says, “the ‘Shepard Spiritual’ in a way. It’s more of an upbeat song telling people to get ready because Jesus is coming. You know, just be prepared.”

Also sharing their thoughts was Ryn Tallman.

“The end,” says Tallman. “We close with a song called ‘Peace, Peace’, and no matter how many times I’ve heard it, it always chokes me up a bit.”

The service will be held on December 11th at 4pm in the Kimberly Chapel on the Wayland Academy campus located at 101 North University Avenue. It is free and open to the public. Parking is available on University Avenue, on Franklin Street, and in the Field House parking lots.
