11/2/17 – Students at Wayland Academy are presenting Arsenic and Old Lace this weekend. The dark comedy written by playwright Joseph Kesselring is set in 1941. The story follows the Brewster family and its protagonist, a drama critic, whose brother thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt and two spinster aunts have taken to murdering lonely old men with poison wine. The play spawned a movie in 1944 that was directed by Frank Capra and starred Cary Grant. Arsenic and Old Lace is on the stage at Wayland Academy’s Lindsay Auditorium Friday and Saturday night at 7:30pm. Tickets are available at the door for $8 or $5 for students and seniors.
