Wauzeka Woman Given Prison Time For Mailing Illegal Drug Into Fox Lake Correctional

(Fox Lake) A Wauzeka woman who mailed an illegal drug into Fox Lake Correctional was sentenced to 16 months in prison Wednesday. Angelica Pitzer entered a no contest plea to a felony count of Deliver Illegal Articles to an Inmate in August.

Correctional staff at the prison intercepted an envelope addressed to an inmate in January of 2021 that contained three suboxone strips. Recorded phone calls between the inmate and Pitzer suggested she was responsible for sending the envelope.

The inmate and Pitzer discussed what day the card was sent and when he would be getting it. Pitzer told investigators that she did not really know the inmate and that he was a friend of a friend.

When questioned about the envelope, Pitzer said (quote) “I don’t have anything else to say.” The 34-year-old was also placed on extended supervision for two years.
