(Waupun) The 33rd annual Waupun Truck-n-Show gets underway Friday. The two-day event celebrates the industry and features hundreds of truckers from across the country.
Tonight’s Lights of the Night parade begins at 9pm after all the streetlights are shut off on Main Street. Saturday at 3pm, a second parade will allow spectators to see the murals and other works of art on each truck in the daylight.
The return of the Truck-N-Show means added detours for motorists. From 8:45pm to 11pm tonight, and from 2:45pm to 4:45pm tomorrow, State Highway 49 will be closed from Gateway Drive to Fox Lake Road. The detour will have drivers travel from the east into the city on Highway 49, head south on Shaler Drive, west on East Lincoln Street, then North on Rens Way and finally north on Fox Lake Road.
Also, State Highway 26 will be closed from East Spring Street to East Jefferson Street but will be accessible to local traffic. Northbound Highway 26 traffic will be rerouted north onto Frontage Road, east to Highway 26 and then south on Highway 151.
