Waupun Splits Doubleheader With St. Mary’s Springs

The Waupun high school baseball team wrapped up their Badgerland season by splitting a double header with St. Mary’s Springs at Gus Thompson Field on Wednesday night.

In the opener, Waupun scored six runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back in the 13-3, five inning victory.  Waupun added two more runs in the 2nd, 4 in the 3rd and one in the 4th to pull away.  Carson Bresser struck out five and gave up three runs and two hits to earn the complete game victory.  Bresser also went 3×4 at the plate with, a double, triple, three RBI and two runs scored.

St. Mary’s Springs scored four runs in the top of the 1st and held on for a 5-3 win over Waupun in Game 2 on Wednesday night.  Trent Ferris tripled and scored a run, while Jayden Schneider, Austin Wiese and Micah Buchholz all drove in runs for Waupun in the loss.

Waupun won thirteen of their last 14 games this summer and finished the season at 18-4.
