(Waupun) A month’s long investigation by the Waupun Police Department has led to the arrest of a man on Child Pornography charges. Waupun Police Chief Jeremy Rasch says his agency along with the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence in Lomira on Monday.
“When we get to a time of a search warrant and it’s outside or our jurisdiction or even sometimes in our jurisdiction we need help or we need the sheriff’s office assistance because they have jurisdiction in other municipalities,” says Rasch. “This subject that is under investigation lives in Lomira…so, obviously that’s outside Waupun…we needed Dodge County to assist us with conducting a search warrant and obtaining more evidence from that.”
Rasch says detectives have been investigating a 38-year-old man who had been communicating with a juvenile female over social media. He notes that law enforcement found images that met the statutory definition of child porn and that the pictures were received by the suspect.
The 38-year-old is also accused of sending illicit images to the juvenile. During the search warrant, police and sheriff’s officials seized any cellular or electronic devices or other media potentially used to create, receive, and store these images and videos.
The suspect and only occupant of the house was placed under arrest. He is facing ten counts of Child Pornography.
