Waupun scored six runs in each of the first two innings and blew by Markesan 16-2 in five innings on Saturday in Green Lake for an American Legion Single-A Region 6 victory. Tyler Fromolz went 2×4 with a double, 4 RBI and 3 runs scored to lead the Waupun offensive attack that hammered out 17 hits. Jaden White and Austin Wiese also drove in three runs each for Waupun. Conrad Davis gave up 2 runs and three hits in three and a third innings to notch the win. Hayden Quade to the loss for Markesan while Jaden Walker and Trevor Roberts drove in Markesan’s runs.
Waupun (17-0) will play at 1pm on Sunday. Waupun would have to win one of two games on Sunday to earn a trip to the American Legion Single-A State Tournament in Denmark next weekend.
In Single-A Region 7 in Fond du Lac, Horicon was knocked off by St. Mary’s Springs 10-3.
