(Waupun) A mobile home in Waupun was completely destroyed by fire that authorities believe to be suspicious Friday evening. The Waupun Fire Department responded to 916 South Madison Street shortly before 5pm. Upon arrival, flames were visible from the west side of the trailer. Chief BJ DeMaa says it took crews 20 minutes to knock down the fire and overhaul efforts took roughly two hours. The mobile home, owned by Gloria Martin, sustained significant smoke and fire damage. DeMaa says no firefighters were hurt during operations but one individual who was in the unit prior to the fire was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries. The cause of the blaze is under investigation. Assisting at the scene were fire departments from Alto and Brandon/Fairwater, the Waupun Police Department, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Lifestar Ambulance, Waupun Utilities and Alliant Energy.
