(Waupun) Despite worries with road construction, the Waupun Memorial Day Parade will continue with an alternate route. With on-going roadwork on Madison Street city officials originally decided to call off the parade. Mayor Julie Nickel says after meeting with Waupun’s VFW and American Legion a new route was determined and that the annual parade is back on. Nickel says the parade will begin at 9am and will proceed west on East Spring Street towards North Madison Street. The procession will end at Shaler Park at the War Veterans Memorial at 9:45am. A presentation ceremony will follow. Parking will be available in the Community Center, Tanner Park and Rock River Intermediate School. Nickel says anyone participating in the parade is asked to line up near Howard’s Field off of East Spring Street at 8:30am.
