Waupun Man Sentenced To Three Years In Prison On Child Porn Charges

(Waupun) A Waupun man convicted on Possession of Child Pornography charges was sentenced Tuesday to three years in prison. In September, Wade Carrier entered a guilty plea to three of 15 felony counts and had the remaining 12 dismissed but read into the record.

A cyber tip-line report was generated by the computer program Drobox against a user who was tied back to the 36-year-old. Dodge County sheriff’s deputies requested a search warrant of the account which showed multiple files that contained suggestive content involving minors. Authorities executed a search warrant at Carrier’s address in November of 2020 and seized several devices.

Carrier initially told investigators that he had clicked on links that were sent to him but they contained what he called appropriate porn. He later admitted that there was some child porn but he tried to delete it.

Carrier was also placed on extended supervision for 10 years.
