Waupun Man Jailed For Police Chase

10/12/17 – A Waupun man who led police on a high-speed chase was sentenced to 60 days in jail on Thursday. Connor Bruesch entered a no contest plea to one felony count of Attempting to Flee or Elude a Traffic Officer. A Waupun police officer tried to make contact with Bruesch in April after noticing the vehicle had its headlights off. When the officer approached the car, Bruesch sped off at speeds in excess of 65 miles-per-hour in a 25 mile-per-hour residential area. As the chase continued, the vehicle repeatedly slowed and the passenger door would open before speeding off again. Eventually the 20-year-old Bruesch pulled the car over and a female passenger exited the vehicle. She informed police that she was fearful for her life and asked Bruesch to let her out. Bruesch, who can serve the 60-day jail sentence with work release privileges, was also placed on probation for three years and must maintain absolute sobriety.
