(Waupun) A Waupun man was placed on probation for two years Friday for resisting police. Damian Vande Zande entered a no contest plea to a misdemeanor count of Resisting an Officer. A felony charge of Fleeing was dismissed but read into the record. The 26-year-old refused to stop for Waupun Police in June before parking and fleeing on foot. He was apprehended a short time later, hiding in an alley. Vande Zande told officers he panicked because he had a warrant out for his arrest.
