Waupun Man Facing Homicide Charge Proceeds To Trial

(Waupun) A Waupun man facing a First Degree Intentional Homicide charge in the death of his grandmother is heading to trial. Gregory Spittel waived his right to a preliminary hearing Friday in Fond du Lac County Court. The 30-year-old is also facing a felony count of First Degree Reckless Injury, First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Aggravated Battery, misdemeanor Resisting, among other charges. Seventy-five-year-old Carol Foreman died in August after she was found in Spittel’s basement with serious head injuries. According to the criminal complaint, Spittel was drunk and screaming when officers arrived at the home for a medical call on August 24th. Spittel was arrested after allegedly confronting and threatening police.
