Waupun Man Facing Felony Fleeing Charges

(Calamus) An arrest warrant has been issued for a Waupun man charged with running from Dodge County deputies. Timothy Savannah was scheduled to make his initial appearance in court Monday on a felony count of Fleeing but failed to show. On August 16th, a traffic stop was initiated on a vehicle that was speeding through a construction zone on Highway 151 near Gunn Road. When the deputy made contact with the driver, he could reportedly smell the odor of marijuana and noticed that Savannah had bloodshot eyes. A DOT records search showed that an ignition interlock device needed to be installed for Savannah to drive the vehicle, which it did not have. When the deputy asked the 28-year-old to step out of the vehicle, he allegedly drove off at a high rate of speed. Authorities eventually called off their pursuit just south of Highway 33. If convicted, Savannah is facing no more than three-and-a-half years in prison.
