5/4/17 – A Waupun man had cash bond set at $50,000 dollars for allegedly running from police during a traffic stop in Beaver Dam on Monday. Kory Forrest is charged with felony Fleeing an Officer as well as misdemeanor charges of Bail Jumping and Operating with a Revoked License. Beaver Dam police officers pulled over Forrest and say they smelt a strong odor of intoxicants coming from inside the vehicle. As the officer returned to his squad car to call for backup, Forrest fled from the scene at speeds of up to 100mph. Police deployed a tire deflation device which disabled Forrest’s vehicle on County Road A just north of County Road B. The 29-year-old fled on foot and was eventually caught in a nearby farm field. If convicted, Forrest faces up to five years in prison. A preliminary hearing is scheduled next Thursday.
