The Warriors completed their final competition of the 2020-2021 season as a JV & V combo Saturday at West Allis Hale HS at the Greater Metro Conference Meet.
For JV, sophomore Aliayah Bender tied for 9th on beam with a personal best 6.3.
In Varsity action, the Warriors took 4th out of the 6 team group with their second highest team score of the season; 120.425.
Leading the Warriors was freshman Graycie VandeBerg, totaling a 32.375, good enough for 9th All Around. She placed 4th on Vault (8.575), and gained a new personal best in the uneven bars (7.8, 10th)
Sophomore Nicole Roecker took 10th All Around today with a 32.15, was 7th on beam (8.625), and 8th on bars (8.0).
Sophomore Maddy Falke holds a new personal record on the floor exercise (8.25, 8th), and bars (6.05), and was 8th on Vault (8.05).
“We had a pretty good day – sort of typical with the few ups and downs, but overall it went well. Consistency is key and is something we’re working on, but if I remember how we started the season, I am so proud of how far they’ve come in a few short months. Jadyn upgraded her bar routine today, adding her uprise, and Kearsten added some new jump combos to her beam and floor routines.” Head Coach Emily Engelhardt said. “Aliayah stuck her beam routine and beat her previous PR by over a point, Maddy had a beautiful floor routine and deserved her PR, and our bars are getting so much better. Nicole tied her PR on bars and had another solid beam set, and Graycie stuck her beam again too and had one of the best floor routines I’ve seen her do. Her vault is getting better each meet also. There’s so much to be proud of, and we’ve got one more week to work on polishing before Sectionals.”
The Warriors travel to Platteville next Saturday for Division 2 Sectionals. The top 2 teams, and 5 individuals on each event and all around advance to the State Meet, this year being held in LaCrosse.
