Waupun Declares Snow Emergency

(Waupun) The city of Waupun has declared a snow emergency in advance of the upcoming winter storm. The snow emergency will be effective from Thursday at 6am through 6pm on Saturday.

During a snow emergency, parking is prohibited at all times on the south, east, and southeast side of all streets in Waupun. There are exceptions on a few city streets located near commercial districts.

They include Main Street from Commercial to Carrington Street, Madison Street from Franklin to Olmstead, Fond du Lac from Franklin to Main Street, Carrington Street from Main to Brown, and streets where parking is restricted to one side of the roadway.

Waupun officials say parking restrictions help crews safely remove snow and keep streets cleared for police, fire, and emergency response vehicles during significant winter weather events.
