Waupun Correctional Inmate Accused Of Having Cellphone

(Waupun) An inmate at Waupun Correctional is charged with having illegal contraband. Christopher Jones is facing a felony count of Possessing Illegal Articles by an Inmate. According to the criminal complaint, correctional staff were made aware that a cellphone was in the northwest cell hall of the facility. Guards reportedly learned that the device was being passed between Jones and several other inmates. While Jones was being striped searched, staff allegedly noticed that he appeared nervous and continued to look at a nearby toilet is if he was attempting to throw something into it. When told to turnaround, Jones reportedly pulled a small cellphone from his backside. Jones is serving a 40 year prison sentence for a 2007 homicide conviction in Milwaukee County. If convicted, the 32-year-old faces an additional three-and-a-half years in prison. An initial appearance is scheduled for September 1st.
