Waupun Closing Library, Community Center, Senior Center

(Waupun) City officials in Waupun are closing the senior center, library and community center. City Administrator Kathy Schlieve announced Sunday that as part of an effort to protect the city’s most vulnerable population, the senior center’s closure is effective immediately.

The closing of the library is effective Tuesday, though library staff will accept phone calls during regular business hours, weekdays 9am until 4:30pm. Curbside pickup will be available for checking out materials or using the library’s wireless printing or faxing services.

The community center’s closure is effective Tuesday.

Waupun city hall, the public safety building, and the DPW garage will remain open. Schlieve is asking anyone who is experiencing a cough or fever to refrain from entering public buildings until their symptoms pass.

Delivery of essential public services is dependent on the workforce and she notes that it is essential that the community work together to help prevent the spread of the virus to ensure the delivery of city services. Schlieve says the situation remains fluid and city staff continue to monitor developments.
