Waupun Boys Basketball Back On Track

The Waupun boys basketball team (Overall: 4-3 East Central: 0-3) picked up a pair of wins last Friday to win the Cambridge holiday tournament.  The Warriors played two games on one day, beating Williams Bay 81-52 then a few hours later taking down Poynette 67-60.   Senior Gabe Keach was named tournament MVP averaging 18 points per game at the event.   Coach Brett Pickarts says he’s happy with how Keach has held up this season with teams trying to take him away.  Coach Pickarts adds that he likes what he’s seen from Keegan Hartgerink who is averaging about 15 points and 12 rebounds so far this year after taking a year off from basketball.  Pickarts says that Jaden White and Brady Navis really stepped up their game this past weekend to help bring home the Cambridge tournament title. Waupun has been road warriors over the first quarter of the season, playing six of their first seven games away from home. Two of their three East Central losses were on the road to league favorites Kettle Moraine Lutheran and Plymouth.  The Warriors will be home for three of their next four games.  That starts on Friday when they host Winneconne on Friday night.  The tip is set for 7:15pm
