Waukesha Man Accused Of Running From Hustisford Police

5/31/17 – A Waukesha man has been charged with fleeing from police near Hustisford over the Memorial Day weekend. James Bultynck is facing one felony count of Attempting To Elude a Traffic Officer. On Saturday, Dodge County deputies noticed a group of motorcycles heading southbound on Mill Street. An officer attempted to make contact with the lead biker but he allegedly accelerated off at a high rate of speed. According the criminal complaint, the patrol officers chased the biker for over a mile at speeds in excess of 100 mph. They called off the pursuit and were later informed by dispatch that the Hartford Police Department had apprehended Bultynck. The 31-year-old told officers that he did not see the cop trying to stop him. Bultynck refused to take a Field Sobriety Test at the scene. An officer reported that his eyes were bloodshot and there was a strong odor of intoxicants coming from him so a warrant was issued and a mandatory blood draw was taken. Cash bond was set at $1,000 dollars and if convicted, Bultynck faces over three years in prison.
