Watertown’s Houchin Announces Candidacy For 37th Assembly District

(Watertown) A Watertown woman has announced her candidacy for the state’s 37th Assembly District. Cathy Houchin, a Dodge County Board supervisor, is running for the seat currently held by John Jagler who has secured the Republican nomination in the 13th State Senate District racespecial election for the Assembly seat has not been announced as the winner will not be known until after the Senate race is decided in the April election. If Jagler wins the Senate race, he would be expected to step down from the Assembly, triggering a special election. Houchin – who has spent 40 years as a public school teacher – says she is staunchly prolife, champions reopening the state, and is an active NRA member. She has served five years on the county board and says her platform will focus on lower taxesless government and helping small businessesHouchin says she is the only candidate who has consistently voted for less spending and more freedom.”
