Watertown Teen Given Jail Time For Robbing Beaver Dam Gas Station

(Beaver Dam) A second Watertown teen who used peppery spray while robbing a Beaver Dam business was given a year in jail Wednesday. Avery Bence plead no contest in November to a felony count of Robbery.

The eighteen-year-old was also placed on probation for seven years. Eighteen-year-old Thatcher Sehrbrock of Watertown was given the same punishment Tuesday for his role in the crime.

Bence and Sehrbrock entered the North University Avenue gas station in November of 2020. Bence used peppery spray on the store clerk and took several packs of cigarettes. The incident was captured on video surveillance and Bence was identified by a school resource officer and a relative. When questioned, Bence admitted to his actions.
