Watertown Teen Charged With Sexually Assault Of A Child

(Watertown) A Watertown teen has been charged with having inappropriate contact with a minor. Brandon Peters is facing a felony count of Repeated Sexual Assault of the Same Child. In October, the 13-year-old victim contacted police to report the alleged assaults. According to the criminal complaint, she told investigators that contact with Peters had happened around ten times since July and that it was not consensual. When questioned, Peters at first denied the accusations but later allegedly admitted to his actions and that he knew the victim’s age. If convicted, the 17-year-old Peters could face no more than 40 years in prison. Signature bond was set at $20,000 during Peters’ initial appearance and a judge will decide in December if there is enough evidence to order a trial.
