(Watertown) Watertown Regional Medical Center has hired a psychiatric nurse practitioner to their counseling team. The position, which has been filed by Michelle Zapinski, provides mental and behavior health services. Zapinski graduated from Alverno College in Milwaukee with a Masters of Science in Nursing. She brings over 15 years of experience to the Watertown facility and the surrounding communities. Zapinski says the hospital believes in the effects of a strong mental health program can have on the overall health and well-being of patients. She says this philosophy fits well with her own approach of destigmatizing mental health disorders. Clinic Manager at Directions Counseling Sheila Weber says Zapinski’s addition allows them to help more people by offering additional medication management appointments and expanded treatment options for children and adults.
