The Watertown 16U American Legion baseball team will play for a state championship this afternoon at Lomira. Watertown is currently 4-0 at the state tournament, collecting wins over Beloit 12-4, West Salem 7-0, Lomira-Theresa 2-1, and De Pere 8-0. In their 8-0 win over De Pere on Sunday night, Meis, Goeman, and Roethle all drove in a pair of runs while Tarr struck out nine to earn the complete game victory. Watertown and LaCrosse will face off today at 2pm. If Watertown is victorious, they will take home the state championship. A LaCrosse victory sets up a winner-take-all game at 5pm.
The Watertown 19U American Legion baseball team dropped their first two games of their Triple-A Regional falling to Middleton 13-8 and Hartford 6-2. The Storm 19U season ends at 7-9.
