Waterloo Girls Volleyball Eyeing Return Trip To State

The Waterloo High School girls volleyball team is heading down the homestretch of another successful regular season.  The Pirates are 19-2 heading into the final few days of the regular season.

Waterloo entered the season with high expectations returning three players who earned All-State honors from the Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Association in 2019.  Senior Brooke Mosher was a 1st team selection last season while fellow senior Joslyn Wolff and sophomore Michaela Riege were Honorable Mention picks a season ago.

Mosher has committed to play NCAA Division One volleyball at the University of Illinois.  Wolff’s also has aspirations to play college volleyball, but the pandemic has slowed the process for uncommitted players in the class of 2021.

Head Coach Christy Mosher tells DailyDodge.com that she’s glad they were able to play a fall season because her senior class has been eyeing a trip to state their seniors season since watching Waterloo’s first every trip to state when they were in 6th grade.  .  The Pirates qualified for the WIAA Division Three Girls State Volleyball Tournament last season where they lost Aquinas in the semifinals.   Mosher ads that they have lots of tough competition in their Regional and Sectional so they will have to take it one match at a time to reach their goal.

Waterloo will travel to Lakeside Lutheran on Friday, then head to Pewaukee for an event on Saturday, before wrapping up their regular season on Monday with a home match against Watertown.

The Pirates, who are ranked #2 in the Mid-Season Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Association Division Three Poll.  The WIAA volleyball tournament kicks off with Regional action next Tuesday night but Waterloo’s first action will be on Thursday, October 22nd
