Waterloo Girls Volleyball: D3 State Runner-Up

The Waterloo High School girls volleyball team finished runner-up at the WIAA Division Three State Volleyball Tournament in Wausau on Saturday.

The Pirates swept Fall Creek 3-0 in the Semifinals. (25-17, 25-17, 25-22)

In the Division Three State Championship Game, Waterloo took the opening set, but then dropped three straight to defending champion Howards Grove to lose the match 3-1. (23-25, 25-22, 25-15, 25-11)

This was Waterloo’s fifth trip to the WIAA State Volleyball Tournament and 2nd straight.  The Pirates won back to back D3 crowns in 2014 & 2015.

The Pirates finish up their season at 26-3.  Howards Grove ended the season at 21-1.

This year’s WIAA Division Three State Tournament was moved to Wausau West High School because the Resch Center was not available because of COVID-19 health restrictions.
