5/23/17 – An ordinance regulating street vendors made its way through committee in Mayville last night. Currently, there is no permit process in place. Mayor Rob Boelk says that this is something needed for the general good of the public. He says there will be regulations so they do not park so close to downtown or other businesses. The ordinance will also set the time of day a vendor can operate, parking restrictions and permits costs. Boelk says he looked at other municipalities similar to Mayville when to lay the ground work for the ordinance. He says he hopes the council will come back with some changes and suggestions to make it better for everyone. The goal is to have the ordinance approved by the end of summer.
